Bob concentrates his practice in the areas of acquisition and sale of real estate, mortgage secured transactions (shopping centers, hotels, multifamily, office buildings, warehouse, student housing), work-outs, foreclosures, general business, lending law, general corporate (limited liability companies, tenancies-in-common, corporations, limited partnerships and partnerships) contracts, acquisition and sale of businesses; real estate financing, 1031 exchanges, real estate development, , leasing, and title insurance matters. Drawing upon his litigation experience, Bob works closely with the firm's litigation attorneys in business, secured lending and real estate related disputes. Bob has experience in the sale and acquisition of businesses, franchising, and litigation related to his areas of practice. He has represented loan servicers, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae commercial and CMBS lenders, commercial banks, life insurance companies and other financial institutions in commercial lending and other financing transactions, including construction and permanent financing of office buildings, multifamily developments, hotels and condominiums.

Bob has represented developers and investors in the acquisition, development and operation of commercial properties, including national ""big box"" retail stores, grocery sites, office buildings, shopping centers, warehouses, mini-warehouse storage facilities and training facilities. He has provided legal services to lenders in commercial refinancing and acquisition financing of well over a billion dollars in recent years, including projects in approximately 30 States, and acted as seller/servicers' counsel in the refinance of a $1.3 billion office building complex in New York. Such legal services include representing lenders in Freddie Mac credit enhancement and line of credit programs. Bob has represented the lender in credit enhancements supporting the multistate financing of projects by the issuance of bonds by local authorities. He was lead local counsel on the team providing legal services in connection with a the financing of a Fortune 100 corporate campus in Memphis.

Bob also served as legal counsel in the development of the largest residential subdivision in Shelby County, Tennessee, has provided legal expertise in the development of commercial subdivisions, golf course properties and assisted in advising mortgage lenders in various aspects of their endeavors. He represented the purchaser in the acquisition of the largest homebuilding company in the mid-south. Bob is also currently engaged as legal counsel for purchasers and sellers in the acquisition and sale of multi-family apartments throughout the United States, with recent acquisitions and sales of properties valued in excess of $250,000,000.

Bob has acted as lead counsel, along with the Firm’s litigation attorneys, in representing master and special servicers in commercial work-outs, foreclosures and receivership matters.

Bob was elected a fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys in 1994, and served on its board of Regents and in various offices, including national President of that organization. The College is a fellowship of attorneys who have demonstrated their competency and preeminence in the field of commercial mortgage based lending, its members being elected by real estate lending practitioners in recognition of those skills and activity within the legal community.
